Scriptures to Pray to Defeat Anxiety
Your heart starts to pound, sweat breaks out, you feel smothered as if you cannot breath. Anxiety is a feeling of fear, discomfort, worry. It affects us mentally, physically, socially, emotionally.
I suffered with the anxiety of "enough".
Am I good enough to socialize with this group of people?
Am I smart enough to do the job?
Do I look good enough to attend an event?
Am I good enough to teach God's Word?
Am I good enough to serve in God's Kingdom?
As I anchored in God's Word - I learned that the enemy will use anxiety to place you in a constant state of worry and fear that will distract you from God. Leading you to think God does not care for you. God has abandoned you and left you alone. He has not!!!
God's Word is the Sword of the Spirit. The most powerful offensive weapon that can be used against the enemies. It's time to take up the Sword of the Spirit and put God's Word into action!
Psalm 94:19 - When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comforts delight me.
Talk to God when the enemy starts planting seeds of doubt in your mind. God will calm your fears and renew your faith in yourself. God’s Word will talk you off the ledge.
Isaiah 41:10 - Do not fear [anything], for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, be assured I will help you; I will certainly take hold of you with My righteous right hand [a hand of justice, of power, of victory, of salvation].’
God is with you. We have a relationship with Him. God supports us and makes us stronger.
John 14:1 - “Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid, cowardly). Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me.
Jesus is the way to the Father. Do not be afraid. Take courage and have confidence in God. Step out on Faith! God’s Word is enough to give you confidence and assurance to move forward.
Romans 8:38-39 - For I am convinced [and continue to be convinced—beyond any doubt] that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present and threatening, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the [unlimited] love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can separate us from God’s love. We are safe in the Presence of Christ. Paul tells us - It is impossible to be separated from Christ. No matter what we may say, do or think. God’s love is always present. All we have to do is accept it.
Psalm 34:4 - I sought the Lord [on the authority of His word], and He answered me, And delivered me from all my fears.
Call on the Lord. There is POWER in the Name of Jesus.
