Promise: God’s Word is Forever
Updated: Jan 11
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.
Throughout my season, I would talk through a problem with others only to receive opinions that changed constantly, were given with no clarity and included falsehoods.
When I re-anchored myself, I relearned a valuable truth – God’s Word is always. It never changes. It has no hidden agendas. It is true. It is steady. It is constant.
Peter quotes Isaiah and reminds us of God’s Word being forever in 1 Peter 1:24-25: As the Scriptures say, “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.”
All things in our life will eventually go away – family, friends, careers, homes, all material things. But God’s Word is always. It is as God is – the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. It stands forever.
When a problem arises now, my first conversation is with God. Psalm 119:105 tells us God’s Word is the solution to our problems and needs. Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. The Word of God gives us direction to the right path. His Word lights our way when we encounter darkness on that path.
Jesus told us - Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear. Luke 21:33
Drop you anchor in God’s Word. Let it draw you in. Let it teach you. Let it challenge you. Seek out scriptures that will guide you and help you on your path. Let God’s Word make you question the way of the world.
Declaration: Declare today, God’s Word is forever.
Action: Study God’s Word. Meditate on Psalm 119 Your Word Is a Lamp to My Feet (ESV).
Prayer: Lord I stand on Your Word forever. Thank You for Your Word. Your Word is my anchor. Open my eyes to see; my ears to hear; my heart mind and soul to receive. Father, I pray Your Word draws me in, teaches me, challenges me, makes me think. Your Word is forever. In Jesus Name. Amen
