But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6
This scripture describes me perfectly during the first half of my season.
I would ask God for help, while at the same time doubting, He would come through. I was blown and tossed going from one thing to another with nothing working. I was not anchored so I was blown far offshore.
When I drifted away from Christ, it was an open invitation for the enemy to send storm clouds my way. The enemy will use any little opening to gain a foothold into your situation. And he did.
Jesus tells us in Matthew 21:22 that you can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it. As I became anchored in God’s Word, my belief turned into faith and my faith led to trust. The storm levels shifted and I was making my way back to shore. There were still high winds and rough waves, but I was now anchored.
My asks became prayers. Prayers acknowledging God as my Father; thankfulness for His guidance; praise and worship for Him accepting me for all my sins and failures; forgiveness for my divided loyalty. There were times when my prayers did not include any asks. I was grateful to be back on shore.
I have no doubt that God will see me through.
Get anchored. Stay focused on God. Be not divided in your loyalty.
Declaration: Declare today, I am anchored in God’s Word. I have no doubt that God will see me through.
Action: Study God’s Word. Meditate on Matthew 21:18-22 Jesus Says the Disciples Can Pray for Anything.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your Word. It keeps me anchored in faith and trust. Your Word draws me in. It teaches me, it challenges me, it makes me think, it makes me question the way of the world. Your Word guides me through each day. Open my eyes to see, my ears to hear, my heart, mind and soul to understand and continue to be fed from Your Word. In Jesus Name. Amen
