Listen for God's Voice
Updated: Jan 11
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you. Psalm 143:8
During my season, a fitful night of sleep was followed with waking up dreading the day.
Quieting yourself is not easy. Turning off the mental “to do list” is difficult. You have to get ready for work, get the kids off to school, you even think about what’s for dinner and you haven’t eaten breakfast!
When I studied on this scripture, I realized in order to hear God’s voice I had to learn to quiet myself.
Notice the scripture pinpoints – each morning. This scripture is the template for a new morning routine. Begin your day by quieting your mind and listen for God’s voice. Follow the way He has for you to go.
Proverbs 3:5-6 is God’s promise to guide our steps – Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Be assured that where your footsteps fall, God has already been.
As scripture tells us in Psalm 32:8, He is teacher, coach, mentor, counselor, watchful eye. The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.
Quiet yourself in the morning. Listen for His voice and ask God to show you the way to go.
Declaration: Declare today, God’s love is loyal, faithful,
committed. He will never lead me to a place where He has not
prepared me to go.
Action: Study God’s Word. Meditate on Psalm 143 My Soul Thirsts for You (ESV)
Prayer: Lord, in the morning when I rise, quiet my mind and let me hear Your voice of love. In all I do today, let me seek You to guide my footsteps. In You Lord I have full trust. In Jesus Name. Amen
